The battle against Real-Time Assistance (RTA) in online poker is intensifying. GGPoker has taken a decisive step by prohibiting sanctioned players from competing in the upcoming World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2025 in Las Vegas.
In collaboration with GTO Wizard, GGPoker has suspended 31 accounts for violating fair play policies. These players, detected using unauthorized software to gain an unfair advantage, have been removed from the platform and are now also barred from WSOP live events.
This move has sent shockwaves through the poker community, setting a new precedent in the fight against illegal poker aids. Notably, this isn’t GGPoker’s first crackdown on RTA usage—back in 2020, the platform banned 40 accounts and confiscated over $1.17 million in funds.
With this strict stance, GGPoker is sending a clear warning: players caught using prohibited software won’t just lose their online privileges, but also their spot in the most prestigious tournaments in the world.
Excluding high-level players from WSOP could serve as a deterrent for those still considering RTA usage. At the same time, it reinforces GGPoker’s commitment to transparency and fair competition, ensuring that poker remains a game of skill rather than technological advantage.
